Everyday I wait
For something to make my
Work a little easier,
"Miss you"s a little
fewer,
My away a little shorter.
These little somethings are
Letters from home.
Crayon scribbled drawings
From the little one,
Short little sayings
Of all they've done,
A long cursive note
From Mom:
Letters from home.
Soon, you realize
They're more than paper.
They're prizes and treasures,
Memories and works of art,
Worthy of rereading,
Displaying, hoping for more,
Letters from home.
You display them in
Your room by the door.
You show them to
Everyone--everyone.
Because, no one has
Your
Letters from home.
