The Wonder of a Writer's Place--Wednesday Guest Feature

For the next few Wednesdays, I'm going to be doing a guest writer feature called The Wonder of the Writer's Place. Each week, a teen writer will introduce you to their favorite writing place and why they find this place important to them. I hope you learn and find encouragement in what each one of these writers have to say. Today, I'd like to welcome Victoria Tucker to my blog.

Describe briefly your favorite place to write.

I enjoy to write at my oaken desk next to my window in my room surrounded by posters of characters from my favorite fandoms many signed by the actors. To my right, I have a group of books such as notebooks and writing how-to books. I also have a business card hanging up that an editor wrote the following on after I won this big award I totally didn't expect to win: "Congratulations. Consider the award confirmation from God. Go forth and WRITE!" When I'm really want to be in the writing zone, I light candles such as my Edgar Allen Poe scented one.

 

 

 

 Why do you find this place important to you?

It's quiet and the desk gives me room for my laptop, cup of tea, and sketchbook since I love to draw my characters. The posters inspire me to create awesome characters like the ones depicted on them. A few of the ones I have up are Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender signed by Dante Basco; a poster with Gandalf, the dwarves, and Bilbo from the Hobbit signed by Graham McTavish (Dwalin); and Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online signed by Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh. They inspire me to write awesome antiheroes, original side characters, and adorable romances. 

 How has your writing been impacted by this place?

I feel like I can concentrate the most in it. I have little distractions and I can really focus on my writing. If write in the living room or other locations, I often find myself too scatterbrained. 

            Three words only to describe the necessity for all writers to have a writing place.

Tranquility is important.
